Monthly Chamber Dinner Meeting Tuesday, November 16 - "Museum and Library Progress" Hosted by Patti!

Patti Fleschner, Director of the Trinidad Museum, will host this month's dinner.

Patti has lived in Trinidad for 30 years and has served as Chamber president for three terms. In the 1980s and 1990s, She and her husband, Mickey, owned two small businesses in Trinidad over 25 years (Trinidad Realty & Bay City Mercantile).  Currently she's president of Trinidad Museum Society and is helping to coordinate efforts to complete Trinidad Library. Trinidad Museum is open Thursdays through Sundays from 12:30 to 4 p.m.  Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Extended hours in the spring. The Museum is located at 400 Janis Court off Patricks Point Drive. 677-3883

Invoices for Membership Dues are mailed. We'll be soliciting non-members this month, but they can join online right now. Encourage them! We're offering new online payment options this year and an optional questionnaire. Your feedback will help us help you and our local businesses, as well as helping our Trinidad Area visitors by giving them the most up-to-date information. Please take a moment to update your member information, and answer our Member Survey.

Please be thinking of individuals and businesses you'd like to see join our Chamber. We will send them a kit on your behalf, or you'll be able to pick kits up at our office. We will need your help and new member's financial assistance to continue our Chamber Mission:

The Friends of Trinidad Library introduces a new event! Tour decorated Trinidad Homes and Businesses with a reception at Trinidad Art Gallery. Caroling lead by Bill and Nick - with bells on! They'll be pulling their wagon all decked out for the Holidays. Chamber Members are encouraged to attend and then head over to "Holidays By The Sea" at Town Hall.

If you are asking that, tweeting is probably not for you. Well not yet anyway. Meanwhile, we're on the map at Twisitorcenter.com (first on the North Coast!).

Trinidad has joined the ranks of savvy cities around the world that tweet!

Twisitors (Trinidad visitors who tweet with twitter.com) can now "ask the locals" by tweeting travel questions directly to us.

Giving more personal suggestions on things-to-do, as well as unique personal perspectives of Trinidad is not only helpful, it's fun! If we're unavailable, fielding questions like "Where's Strawberry Rock in Trinidad?" can be done by our "followers" (friends who subscribe to our tweets) and the twitter community at large. Someone in London who likes Trinidad may get the tweet, and be excited to answer it. Twitter-ers are generally enthusiastic, helpful people. If we can get Ned tweeting, imagine having him available to answer your tweets.

I like getting tweets like "Hey everyone, there are 3 whales whooping it up in the Bay." You can follow your favorite local businesses as well as international news. Emergency notifications over Twitter have even helped alert residents in their cities. Curious? Check out our Trinidad Twisitor Center and the Web for more information. Get tweeting!
